Training description

At AliExpress, we outsource part of our content work to translation agencies such as CSOFT and Pactera. Due to the fast-paced work environment and high volume of work, the quality of work communication is sometimes compromised.

So on top of day-to-day communication via messaging apps and video calls, we hold face-to-face training several times a year. 

Objectives of the trainings:

  • Bring agency up to speed with business plans and content strategy

  • Turn writers into localisation experts

  • Strengthen relationships

As remote writers get assigned numerous isolated tasks every day, they often lack the opportunity to get a big picture view of each project.

These trainings therefore provide a good opportunity for in-house content strategists like myself to share on projects, as well as our role in the company.

As a result of these regular meetups, the agency was more in sync with the expectations of each project, and the in-house content team could gradually spend less time on briefings and clarifications for tasks.
